Photographer and Instagram sensation Jeremy Cheung has a few more fans following his lively talk at theDesk co-working and events space in Sai Ying Pun on Friday March 24. Cheung, who boasts more than 55,000 followers on the social network, gave an hour-long presentation which included his ‘Instagram journey’, an array of the young photographer’s artworks and some excellent insights into how we combine art and photography with social media. He also talked about the concept behind his works and how best to capture daily life in Hong Kong through the medium of street and architectural photography. His talk wrapped up a packed Hong Kong Arts Month at theDesk. Over the month, we’ve had an exhibition up on our walls: ‘Hong Kong: Reflections Through Time’ and Cheung’s works have been part of it, as have the works of two other prominent local artists, Chak Wai Leung and Wing Luk Wong. Each artist has held a separate event too at our space during March, with a buzzing art jam with Wing on one Friday night and an interesting talk on photography in old Hong Kong with Chak on a Thursday. The events may be over but the exhibition itself is still in place across our three floors until April 23. Come and check it out!
